Anderson’s opened in 1982 in the town of Romney so that Bill Anderson could have a place in town for his computer and his coffee pot after retirement. His wife, Patty (formerly Patty Ott of Keyser), willingly obliged since she was home with their 2 sons, Michael & Timothy, and was ready for some community interaction as well. Bill was the town’s computer guru and was greatly missed when he passed away in 2002. Today both of Patty’s sons work with her in the family business. Timothy, who graduated from Gemological Institute of America, is now the shop’s jeweler. He is a meticulous craftsman and does the shop repairs and custom jewelry design. Michael is the art director and graphic designer for the shop and designed this web site, www.andersonscorner.com and now Michael’s wife, Tiffani, has joined the business and is working at the Moorefield shop.

Louis Comfort Tiffany began his love for art glass in the 1870’s in New York. An American artist and genius, his stained glass marks the beginning of the 20th century in this country and his lamp designs live on in the hands of Meyda Tiffany. Made from the original plans drawn by Louis Tiffany, these lamps lit the way forward from the 19th century.
From Art & Crafts period through Art Deco, our unique lamps do more than just light up a room. They make a statement about quality and longevity, about craft and purpose.
When a certain nationally know candle company came calling, we just couldn’t bring ourselves to carry a candle that was in every third gift store in America. So instead we sniffed around for a sophisticated and long-lasting alternative. When we found the Keepers of the Light candles and melters, we knew that they were for us. The only problem is the sugar cookie, which smells like we are baking cookies in the next room, leaving us drooling until we can eat them. The candles come in several sizes, we even have little melters for warming and votives for holders that you already have. Use caution with some of the flavors, they are hard on the diet.
One of our more utilitarian offerings, our pottery is custom made for us using the same methods that the colonists used - hand thrown, salt glazed and then kiln-fired. Our pottery is microwave, oven and dishwasher safe and will compliment most kitchens, not just country, but still retains the feeling of fine stoneware and will last a lifetime. Need a housewarming gift, a birthday present, or just to say thinking of you in West Virginia. These pieces can say anything you like, no matter what the sentiment. Read the rest of this entry »
